The Story Behind the Mason Jar Chandelier

Hello!
It's been awhile since I posted on my blog.....
Today I thought I would share a few images of a mason jar chandelier we recently hung in our home and a little history behind the mason jar chandelier.
I bought it last January when Yasmine closed her physical shop, Maison Reve in Mill Valley.....
It only took us a little over a year to get it hung....
It is something I wanted to purchase from Maison Reve a little over 3 1/2 years ago when I first saw it in the shop.... I couldn't resist last January when they were marked half off and there were only two left....

Back in 2009 my Mom and I went to a Rachel Ashwell book signing at Maison Reve....
(It was a special day spent with my Mom that I will never forget.)
Yasmine had these mason jar chandeliers hung in her shop, and my Mom and I fell in love with them.
I see this wedding pinned all over pinterest all the time.

I love that the chandelier has a story behind it even though it isn't considered vintage yet : ).....
One of the many reasons I love vintage items is I always wonder what the history is behind each particular piece....

You can see my post about Maison Reve here......
Yasmine no longer has a physical shop however you can still shop her beautiful shop online.....

On another note.....
I haven't had much time to post on my blog the past couple of months.....
However I have been posting on instagram.....
It's an easy way to share what is going on in my life by snapping a cell phone picture and sharing
on instagram.... You can find me under dreamywhites or you can view my feed online here....
I have lots I want to share on my blog now I just need to make time to write a few posts....

Hope you all have a great week!
Take Care,
Maria

Maria, I'm so happy to see this. When my daughter and I were planning her wedding in 2011 we came across photos of the very wedding you're talking about. I'm pretty sure this was my first experience of finding Pinterest!I decided to make one myself for the wedding, but plans changed and we couldn't use it. I still have it, but don't have a good place for it in my home right now. It just made me happy today to see how pretty it looks in your space! Thanks for sharing this.

Gorgeous photos as always! Maria, you really need to watermark your photos! Your photos are all over Pinterest, and you should get the credit for them. It's easy to do on Picmonkey.

It must have been such a beautiful shop! It makes me sad when brick and mortar stores go away - they are such a feast for the eyes!

Love to have this over the dining table too. It would be truly wonderful to see them lit in candles or small bulbs of light.
Got my eye on your next posts.

We love living in Engalnd but do so miss the light you have in California. The mason jat chandelier looks wonderful in your room with the pastel shades and love the story behind it!

I love the chandelier and I loved Maison Reve - disappointed when it closed although I didn't go much since I live in southern California.

What I love most is your wonderful tablecloth. I love things with n!umbers or letters. I have been painting pillows and table runners lately. I think I will make a tablecloth like yours next.

Thanks for the inspiration

Thank you for sharing how the mason jar chandelier came about, and how long you have loved it. It's pieces like these that inspire a creative heart, it really adds to the right kind of rightness you passionately create all around you.

Beautiful week ahead of you, and a month of March inspiration that will feed our souls.

I love the chandelier ! I saw one similar on Pinterest, after studying it for awhile I decided I wanted to make one for my outdoor space. So I did. I added small twinkle lights to my jars tho so I didn't have to light candles all the time. I get so many compliments on it, its such a simple idea with a ton of impact. . . I like it inside too. . .hmmm. . . another idea is brewing. . . thanks for sharing. . love your blog and beautiful photos.

Very nice. What I really want to know is where you get your crystal chandeliers. I have crystal chandeliers but they are either all glass or crystal and brass. I'm looking for one my similar to the ones you have.

Just beautiful and how lovely that you have something to remind you of that sweet day with your mom. It's nice that it was marked half off too. I would love to make one for my home. I will have to find you on Instagram. I always love getting your fb updates in my feed. Makes it a lil' prettier. ;)
